Dan Gallo


Scrolled Mini Clock This clock was cut on the scroll saw at the club's annual BBQ. It was entered into the silent auction and won by Kathy Ayers, wife of our club president.
It was cut from 1/2" Mahogany and finished with boiled linseed oil. It has a top coat of Deft semi-gloss spray lacquer.

Seam Ripper tool entered into the tool challenge. The handle was turned on the lathe and is made from Redheart. The finish is spray gloss lacquer.

Miniature Bird Houses were cut entirely on the scroll saw. The woods are Mahogany and Alder for the houses. Mahogany, Cherry and Walnut are used for the birds.

Cheese Dome and Cheese Knife with Tray All wood parts made from the same board of Mahogany. The base of the Cheese Board was cut on the scroll saw. The knife handle was turned on the lathe. The knife tray was cut on the scroll saw. The finish on all wood pieces is a 50/50 mixture of boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits, then top coated with Deft semi-gloss spray lacquer.

A Plaque to hang in Dan's shop. It is cut from Cherry and Maple. The finish is Boiled Linseed Oil with a top coat of semi-gloss spray lacquer.

Gentleman's Box By Dan Gallo
This scroll sawn box is made from Spanish cedar. The finish is a 50/50 mixture of boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits. The topcoat is Deft semi gloss spray lacquer.
The inside bottom is flocked with wine colored flocking. The pattern is by John A. Nelson.

Marble Coordination Game. Wood: Red Oak, Cherry, Mahogany, and Baltic Birch Plywood. Finish: Watco Danish Oil and topped with Deft Satin spray Lacquer.
Pencil in a Board. How is this done? There are no cut or glue lines and no glue is used.

This Steak Knife Set was made by Dan for the "Table Setting Challenge." It is a set of six knives in a Walnut box. The knives are scaled with Cocobolo and finished with Watco Danish Oil and buffed with carnauba wax. The box is finished with wax.
